Job Description:

Cirrus Consulting Group is seeking an outstanding leader to help manage the rapid growth of the business as Director of Finance. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Finance will ensure the overall financial well-being of the company. This critical position will oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting and analysis of the business; manage internal and external relationships with key stakeholders; manage risk, compliance and all other critical components of the business including forecasting, accounting and budgeting. This individual will be "hands on" in managing the finance function but also contribute significantly to the strategic planning and growth of the organization. A key member of the Executive Team, the Director of Finance will play a key role in guiding the company through a significant phase of growth and profitability. He or she will act as the primary financial interface with the Company's Executive Management Team.

The Director of Finance will be accountable for:

· All financial reporting, including forecasting and strategic analysis and recommendations,

· Ensuring sound fiscal management practices throughout the organization,

· Monitoring monthly financial statements and KPIs and recommending any changes critical to the success and growth of the company,

· Providing financial and operational advice, guidance and support to the Executive Team,

· Making a significant contribution to the strategic planning process of the organization,

· Identifying and managing treasury risks associated with the daily operations and expansion of the business,

· Helping to provide appropriate and timely KPIs to the rest of the management team to help in the real-time management of the business,

· Maximizing the ERP system to enhance reporting and analysis,

In addition to the above focuses, additional specific and ongoing responsibilities of the Director of Finance will be the following:



Day to Day Management:

· Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures,

· Manage outsourced functions,

· Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives,

· Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures,



Transactions:

· Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner,

· Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable,

· Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly,

· Process payroll in a timely manner,

· Ensure that consistent bank reconciliations are completed,

· Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis,

· Maintain the chart of accounts,

· Maintain an orderly accounting filing system,

· Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions,



Reporting:

· Issue timely and complete financial statements,

· Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report,

· Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations,

· Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics,

· Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts,

· Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management,

· Provide for a system of management cost reports,

· Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations,



Compliance:

· Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit,

· Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants,

· Comply with local, provincial/state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings,

The Director of Finance will lead a team of direct reports including the Corporate Accountant and AR/AP Clerk.



Short-term Key Deliverables:

· The Director of Finance will be deemed successful having accomplished the following in his/her first six (6) months:

o Learned and embraced the business and its various business models, service offerings, market opportunities, and future plans as well as contributed significantly to the growth and profitability of the company by implementing measurable cost-saving, revenue generating or efficiency improving changes to the business,

o Established and fostered relationships both internally and externally (domestically and globally) including being a key contact to the executive team, outside service providers, and lenders,

o Significantly enhanced the financial reporting and forecasting for the company,

o Provided transparency of the company's financial health and status to senior management,

o Provided real-time forecasting to maximize opportunities and eliminate surprises,

o Improved the Company's KPIs and tracking of data,

 


Preferred Skills:

· The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

o A CA, CGA or CMA designation

o 10+ years of experience managing the financial function with at least five of those years spent at a senior level

o Knowledge and experience in a services environment

o Demonstrated ability to lead in entrepreneurial and high growth environments

o Cross-border experience
